At the United Nations, India once again targeted Pakistan on the issue of terrorism, sending a blunt message that countries that harbour terrorists and allow their territory to be used for terrorist activities are naturally afraid of scrutiny by global bodies like the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). India said that questioning the fairness of the FATF is an attempt to evade accountability. India's Permanent Representative to the UN Parvathaneni Harish, at the 2026 Counter-Terrorism Week event Joining Forces to Counter Terrorism Financing in the Context of Evolving Threats and Emerging Technologies, attacked Pakistan without naming it. He said that countries exporting terrorism should address their deficiencies instead of questioning global institutions. Harish said that the FATF is the most credible global mechanism to curb terrorism financing and money laundering. Its assessment is based entirely on technical and objective evidence.
