India Denies Reports of China's Efforts to Change Place Names in Arunachal Pradesh

The Government of India has denied media reports that China is attempting to change the names of some places in Arunachal Pradesh. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Sunday dismissed such reports as baseless and politically provocative. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also issued a statement in this regard. Our response to media queries regarding China giving fictitious names to places in Arunachal Pradesh. Randhir Jaiswal, Official Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). He said,'India categorically rejects China's attempts to arbitrarily change the names of places in India. China makes false claims and baseless narratives. However, it cannot change the reality. These places and territories, including Arunachal Pradesh, were, are and will always be an integral part of India. China's actions undermine ongoing efforts to stabilize and normalize India-China bilateral relations. China's attempts to create negativity and further undermine efforts to build a better understanding with respect to Arunachal Pradesh should therefore be construed as a deliberate attempt by China to change the name of a place in India's territory.'Till December 21, 2021, China made a significant effort to undermine India's strategy.
