India Expects Scattered Rainfall Amid Heatwave and Dust Storm Warnings

On the one hand, there are signs of rain in many states of the country, on the other hand, heat wave and dust storm warnings have been issued in some parts of northern India. At the same time, the southwest monsoon is still weak and its expansion has stopped. According to meteorologists, light to moderate rain with heavy spells in some places can be seen in parts of interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal and Assam. Also, light to moderate rain is expected in northeast India, northeast Bihar, south Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, western Himalayan region, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Light rain may occur in some places in Odisha, Vidarbha, southeast Rajasthan, south and east Gujarat and Konkan and Goa. However, this rain will be sporadic and not continuous. There is a possibility of dust storm with thunderstorms in the states of northwest India - Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi. Light to moderate rain is also expected in some parts of northeast India. Heatwave conditions are expected in the northern parts of the country.
