India has launched its campaign for non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). According to reports, India has submitted its bid for a non-permanent seat as a non-permanent member of the UNSC. India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York. The two discussed a range of global issues, including West Asia, Ukraine, and the Russian war. At the event held at the UN Headquarters, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar launched India's campaign for a non-permanent seat at the UNSC in the presence of ambassadors, diplomats, and senior UN officials. Jaishankar said that India's approach to the UN is based on the principle of'SHANTI '. In his address, S Jaishankar stressed that India's goal is to contribute to building a peaceful world, where there is peace, security, and equality. According to reports, India has been seeking a long-term, non-permanent seat for the UNSC from next year's term and India has been seeking to add new members in June.
