India Passes Anti-Paper Leak Bill, Awaits Presidential Approval

After the Lok Sabha, now the Anti-Paper Leak Bill has also been passed from the Rajya Sabha. After the walkout of the opposition MPs, this bill was also passed from the Rajya Sabha by voice vote. After the passage of both the houses, now this bill is just one step away from becoming a law. After the approval of the President, this bill will become a law. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Droupadi Murmu. This bill proposes more stringent punishment. This law is aimed at effectively preventing such people, organized groups and institutions from using unfair means and committing crimes that adversely affect the integrity of public examinations. Under the provision of this bill, people found involved in paper leaks or unfair methods in examinations can go to jail for at least five years and a maximum of 10 years and can be fined up to 50 lakh rupees. For organized crimes, the bill proposes a minimum of seven years imprisonment and a fine of up to 10 million rupees. Jitendra Singh said that the Central Anti-Paper Leaking Bill will also come in the Rajya Sabha.
