India Reiterates Stance on Indus Waters Treaty, No Change in Position

Since the Indian Army's Operation Sindoor in Pakistan, there has been a constant tussle between the two countries over the Indus Waters Treaty. Meanwhile, India has once again reiterated its position on it and said that there is no change in our position. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has clarified the Indian government's position on the Indus Waters Treaty while addressing a press briefing on Friday (August 14, 2026). He said, "Our position on the Indus Waters Treaty is well known. There has been no change in it." On the status of the Indus Waters Treaty, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal says, "Our position on the Indus Treaty is well known. There is no change in it." Along with this, he has also clarified the position on the relationship between India and Afghanistan. Randhir Jaiswal said, "Over the last few months and more than one time, we have had several rounds of talks with the ministers of India on the Indus Waters Treaty. There have also been several visits to Afghanistan during these rounds.
