As many as 52,360 voters are likely to be deleted from the electoral roll under the special summary revision programme being carried out in the Potka assembly constituency. At present, there are a total of 3,16,192 registered voters in this assembly constituency. A large number of such voters have been identified during administrative scrutiny. Many of these voters have been found to be duplicate, some have died, while many have permanently left the area. According to available data, the names of 31,188 voters are most likely to be deleted in the Jamshedpur area. Also, the names of 8,311 voters from the Potka block and 5,736 voters from the Dumaria block are included in the deletion list. The administration has given time till September 4 to rectify the status of their names and file claims and objections, giving relief to the affected voters.
