Advertising agencies are also finding out who were the first owners of these properties, at what price they were purchased and whether the documents related to the purchase and sale are in accordance with the law. The relevant bank accounts and financial transactions will also be investigated if needed. Recently, a local Bharatiya Janata Party leader had filed a complaint at Falta police station alleging that Jahangir Khan and his family had illegally acquired a large amount of property and made suspicious financial transactions. On the basis of this complaint, the police had started an investigation. Jahangir Khan was a Trinamool Congress candidate in the 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. Before the election, he was arrested on extortion and other charges.
