The film Kala Hiran, based on Jodhpur's famous 1998 blackbuck poaching case, is in the news again. This time, the reason is not the story of the film, but the alleged death threats received by its director Amit Jani. The director has filed a complaint in Jodhpur's Ratanada police station, alleging that he is being continuously threatened through WhatsApp calls and messages from Pakistan. After the complaint, the police have registered a case and started investigation. Ratanada police station officer Dinesh Lakhawat said that the complaint given by Amit Jani states that he received a call from an international number. The caller revealed his name as Shahzad Bhatti and warned him to stay away from the production of the film Kala Hiran. According to the complaint, the caller also threatened him of dire consequences. The police have filed a complaint and started a technical investigation. Officials say that the veracity of the call, the caller's real identity, the location of the call and the motive behind the threat is being investigated. Like their own cyber security, Amit is not seeking evidence in this case.
