Indian Government Questions Fuel Price Increases After Iran-US War

After the Iran-US war, petrol and diesel prices were increased in the country. Questions have been raised about petrol and diesel prices for the last several days. Now in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas was asked about fuel prices and taxation. MP Chandrakant Damodar Handore asked whether the government has assessed the impact of high petrol and diesel prices on the domestic budget and inflation. Minister of State for the Ministry Suresh Gopi said that the impact of petrol and diesel prices on inflation is calculated on the basis of their weightage in the Wholesale Price Index (WPI).
