Indian Government Set to Introduce Key Bills as Monsoon Session Concludes

In the monsoon session of the parliament on Monday (10 August 2026), the government is likely to introduce some important bills in the house, in view of which the Congress has issued a three-line whip to all its MPs in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Next week is the last week of the monsoon session of the parliament and there is speculation that the government is preparing to introduce and pass the FCRA amendment bill in the house on 10 July. In view of this, the Congress has asked its MPs to compulsorily be present in the house on 10, 11 and 12 August (Monday to Wednesday). The Congress has also requested other allies of the India Alliance to ensure the presence of their MPs during these three days. The BJP has also asked its MPs to be present in the house. However, the information given by the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal about the possible government business next week does not mention the FCRA bill or the Constitution amendment bill at the moment. Meanwhile, the Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah, reportedly met the protesting students at Ram Mandir.
