Indian Hospital Achieves Milestone in Robotic Heart Surgery with Complex Congenital Defect Correction

The surgery was performed on a 38-year-old patient. The patient had congenital congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (CCTGA) of the heart and two congenital problems of dextrocardia. Due to these, the systemic AV valve of the patient's heart was leaking a lot and the heart's ability to work was also reduced. Before the ad surgery, the doctors did the entire planning with the help of 3D CT scan. Then the complex operation was done from the left side with the help of a robot. The surgery was led by Professor Anubhav Gupta, Head of the Department of CTVS. The feat was achieved under the leadership of Dr. Kavita Sharma, Director of Ad Hospital. According to the hospital administration, this success is an important milestone in the field of Indian Health Service and Robotic Heart Surgery.
