In October 2025, the ED conducted simultaneous searches at six locations in Kolkata, including Sujit Bose's home and office, on allegations that he was given a job for a large sum of money while he was in charge of the South Dum Dum municipality. The searches resulted in the recovery of Rs 45 lakh in cash and seizure of important documents. On Friday, the ED questioned state minister Sujit Bose for nearly nine hours in connection with its probe into the municipality recruitment scam. Sujit Bose arrived at the CGO complex shortly before 10: 30 am. He was accompanied by his son Samudra and two lawyers. Emerging out of the ED office after 7: 30 pm after the lengthy questioning, Bose told reporters, "Everyone knows why I was called. The CBI has already given the final charge sheet in the case in which I was called. I was summoned as a witness by the ED. I have cooperated with the officials, I have answered all their questions. If they call me again, I will definitely come. My statement will not go to the level of harassment." Earlier, he had skipped appearing before the ED three times during the election campaign. Bose did not appear before the Calcutta High Court even three times on Friday.
