Tushar Dahiya and his mother Parveen Rani, who have made a mark in local politics in the UK from Rohtak's Sector-34, are now engaged in promoting the Hindi language and Indian culture along with solving people's problems. The mother-son duo, who arrived in India for the first time after assuming the responsibility of mayor in the UK, were welcomed with drums. They say that spreading Indian culture and language to the next generation is also among their priorities. Tushar, 23, is the mayor of Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, while his mother Parveen Rani has been elected as the mayor of Hertsmere Borough Council. Tushar, who has been doing community service since he was about 16, became a councillor at the age of 20. After becoming a deputy mayor in 2025, he has now got the responsibility of mayor. He believes that before entering politics, the youth should understand the needs of the people through community service. Parveen Rani said that children born in the UK do not know Hindi and do not see the initiative of their elderly grandparents in this initiative.
