Indian Opposition Demands PM and Home Minister's Presence in Parliament Amid Protests

During the monsoon session of parliament, the opposition intensified its protests against the central government. Leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah come to the house and join the discussion. Congress MPs protested against Amit Shah in the parliament complex and demanded to fix responsibility for the action. During this, the government was also cornered on issues like Ram temple trust, Article 370 and alleged police action. Leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said that the opposition is fully prepared for discussion, but the government is avoiding discussion. He said, "Our demand is that the prime minister and the home minister come to the house, make statements and discuss. If there is a discussion, then only a solution will be found. If there is no discussion, then they will sit at home and make statements or keep quiet, how can this happen? Parliament is being insulted. So many days have passed, but they are not coming to the house. Why are we not ready to discuss, Mallikarjun Kharge is not coming to the house.
