Indian PM Modi Arrives in France for Bilateral Talks and Defense Deal Discussions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the French city of Nice on Saturday night. He was welcomed by the Indian community at the hotel. The Prime Minister hugged and caressed the baby. The women patted him on the forehead. After this, Modi watched the cultural program. PM Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in the afternoon today. He will also inaugurate the'Bharat Innovates'program. The two countries can have 12 agreements related to technology, innovation, health tech, medical technology, AI, semiconductor and space technology. India and France will have an important discussion on the deal for 114 Rafale fighter jets. India wants these aircraft to have the facility to attach their weapons. The source code issue will also be raised. The deal is yet to be approved by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS). A final decision will be taken only after the Prime Minister's visit. He is on a 6-day visit to France and Slovakia from 13 to 18 June. He will visit Paris and Nice during the 7th phase of his visit.
