Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for a 6-day visit to France and Slovakia on Saturday morning. This is his 7th visit to France after becoming the PM. He will hold bilateral talks with President Emmanuel Macron in the French city of Nice on June 1. He will also inaugurate the'India Innovates'programme. PM will leave for Slovakia on June 14. He will stay here till June 15. During this, he will meet Prime Minister Robert Fico and President Peter Pellegrini. This is the first visit by an Indian PM after Slovakia became an independent country in 1993. Modi will return to France on June 16. Then on June 17, he will participate in the G7 Summit in the city of Evian. The summit will discuss the issue of global economy, international cooperation, new partnerships and AI. PM Modi is expected to meet several world leaders including US President Trump at the G7 Summit. The'Innovates'initiative, announced by the Ministry of Education in February 2026, aims to launch the Indian Startup IIS in France.
