Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of the Hellenic Republic (Greece) on Thursday on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, where the two leaders reviewed the entire gamut of the bilateral strategic partnership. Prime Minister Mitsotakis is paying a visit to India from February 18–19, 2026, to participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026 held in New Delhi. He was accompanied by Minister of Digital Governance Dimitrios Papastergiou and a delegation of senior officials. The two leaders noted that the partnership is growing at a steady pace across diverse fields. They discussed the way forward for further strengthening cooperation in new areas of interest and exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual concern. Both Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Mitsotakis appreciated the recent connectivity initiatives and the potential to further expand them under the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEC). The leaders agreed that the recent exchange of high-level visits has given new impetus to the strategic partnership. They highlighted that the recently concluded India–EU Free Trade Agreement will open new avenues for trade and investment between the two countries. This was Prime Minister Mitsotakis’s second visit to India; he had earlier paid a State visit in February 2024, which marked the first visit of a Head of Government from Greece to India after 15 years. Prime Minister Modi had previously visited Athens on August 25, 2023, when the two countries elevated their bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.
