Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Addresses Nation on Women's Reservation Bill, Receives Criticism from Opposition Leaders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Saturday. In his 30-minute address, he spoke openly on the fall of the amendment bill related to the Women's Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha. At the same time, now the reactions of different leaders of the government and the opposition are also coming out on PM Modi's address and the Women's Reservation Bill. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has called the Prime Minister's address to the nation disappointing and politically motivated. He alleges that the Prime Minister has tried to attack the federal structure through constitutional amendments and delimitation in the name of women, which was thwarted by the Lok Sabha. He said that the Prime Minister should apologize to the country for his efforts to weaken democracy. Congress MP Manish Tewari has expressed regret for criticizing the opposition parties in the Prime Minister's address. He says that the government was actually trying to manipulate the elections by bringing the Delimitation Bill in the name of women's empowerment. Manoj Kumar Jha taunts the BJP.
