Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a direct attack on the Mamata government in West Bengal. Addressing the'Parivartan Sankalp Yatra'rally in Kolkata, PM Modi said, "Hindus are being reduced to a minority in Bengal. Now the end of this'ruthless'government is certain and the end of'Mahajangal Raj'is certain in Bengal." Referring to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) calling the people coming to the rally as "thieves," Modi said, "The people of Bengal know who the real thieves are. The government here is frustrated that it is losing power. They are obstructing the central government's schemes. The government here does not want to give a single penny to the state for these schemes, but the people of Bengal should not get the benefit of the central government's schemes." Targeting the Ayushman Bharat scheme, PM Modi made a special mention of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in his speech. He said, the TMC government is not implementing the scheme in the state due to its selfishness. It is depriving families in Bengal of free treatment up to ₹5 lakh.
