New Delhi: The Indian stock market started Friday on a strong note after Thursday's steep fall. The key indices BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened in the green. During the day's trade, the Sensex jumped 1 079.15 points. The Nifty 50 also jumped more than 300 points. A major reason for the market's rally today is expected to be the easing of tensions in the Middle East, which led to a fall in crude oil prices. On Thursday morning, the Sensex opened sharply higher at 74 559.38 points and the Nifty opened at 23 110.15 points. Later, both the indices gained further. The Sensex closed at 74 325.72 points at the end of the trade. The Nifty 50 also gained. It closed at 23 112.35 points. This morning's rally gave investors a gain of about Rs 6 lakh crore. With this boom, the total market cap of all the companies on the BSE was about Rs 42 lakh crore.
