Indian Supreme Court Hears Petitions Related to Protest Involving Government Officials and Pellet Guns

Some petitions have also been filed on behalf of government officials who were allegedly injured during the protest. One petition has also been filed on the use of pellet guns on the protesters. A bench headed by Chief Justice (CJI) Surya Kant is hearing these matters. Senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan, appearing for the petitioner, told the top court that the affidavit has not been filed so far as per the previous order. To this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, There was some misunderstanding or lack of communication as to what is to be done in the case of FIRs registered against the protesters. I have received instructions from the government to say that the government is serious about fulfilling its promise. I have discussed this with Vrinda Grover. We will have to see how to take this forward. Advocate Vrinda Grover said, this issue is that the FIR will be withdrawn or education will be taken back to them. These FIRs are with the youth of Bengal, whose lives will also be improved.
