Indian Youth Emerge as Key Players in Country's Political Landscape

The center of the country's politics is focusing on Gen-Z these days. From Delhi's Jantar Mantar to different parts of the country, the way the youth have managed to press the government and convince their demands by taking to the streets on the issues of examination rigging, paper leaks and employment, has created a new political atmosphere. In view of this situation, now both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress have become active in the electoral field to win the trust of the youth. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had established a dialogue between students and youth through campaigns like'Pariksha Par Charcha'in the last one decade, but in the present circumstances, this grip seems to be loosening. On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is trying to strengthen his foothold among the youth, for which the country's colleges and universities are becoming new political arenas. After the student movements in Delhi, the country is seeing an effective Gen-Z vote bank. On the other hand, the Congress is preparing a detailed campaign of'Youth Congress'in other cities.
