India's Civic Body Member Draft List to Be Published Digitally with Objection Filing Opportunity

While the Commission has fixed June 5 as the date for the final publication of the draft list, the draft publication has been modified especially in areas where rural areas have joined the civic body. The Commission has clarified that this time the entire exercise will be done digitally and all data will be uploaded on the website. Now the general public will be given an opportunity to file objections. It has also been directed to give information by beating drums in haat-bazaars, publicity through newspaper and electronic media. Authorized functionaries have been entrusted with the responsibility of scrutinizing the objections.
