Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on Sunday evening to review India's energy preparedness amid rising tensions in the Middle East. The high-level meeting at the Prime Minister's residence was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Minister JP Nadda, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri, among others. The meeting lasted for about three and a half hours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the supply chain with the ministers. In view of the changing situation in West Asia, the situation related to petroleum, crude oil, gas, power, and fertilizer sectors was reviewed by the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister directed uninterrupted supply in the entire country and emphasized on logistics and distribution. Senior ministers will assess the situation in the petroleum, power, and fertilizer sector. The meeting focused on uninterrupted supply, stable logistics, and good distribution across the country. Officials said that keeping the national energy development in West Asia was a priority for the consumer and industry sectors present in East Asia.
