New Delhi: In the tumultuous aftermath of the West Asia war, countries around the world are trying to keep in touch with countries in West Asia. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said last night that he had a detailed conversation with Iran's foreign minister. This was the third such conversation between the two countries since the start of the West Asia conflict. Earlier, the foreign ministers of the two countries had telephonic conversations on February 28 and March 5. This was the first conversation between the two foreign ministers after the inauguration of Mujtaba Khamenei. The foreign minister gave a brief account of the conversation from India's side, but Iran's side issued a detailed statement about the conversation, which mentioned Iran's open opposition to US-Israeli attacks as well as the death of schoolgirls in Minab province. India will have to register its voice. West Asia expert Anas Omaire says that India knows that the longer the war drags on, the greater the damage to India's strategic position and security in the region.
