Lok Sabha passes Women's Reservation Bill with 298 votes in favour, 230 votes against. Lok Sabha on Friday voted on three bills related to women's reservation. Earlier, there was a long discussion on these bills and these bills were continuously opposed by the opposition. PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah appealed to the opposition to support this bill. However, finally these bills related to women's reservation could not be passed in the Lok Sabha. The government could not get the support of the opposition regarding the bill. The special session of the Lok Sabha finally passed the Women's Reservation Bill. The constitutional amendment bill for women's reservation and delimitation was voted in the Lok Sabha today (April 17), but could not be passed. On the issue of women's reservation bill, 528 members voted. Out of this, 298 voted in favor, while 230 members voted against. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has confirmed the result of the bill at 11 am.
