Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju left for Qatar from Delhi Airport on Monday. He will convey condolences on behalf of the Government of India on the demise of the'Father Emir'of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. During this time, Rijiju will also meet the leadership of Qatar and hand over a condolence message on behalf of India. On the demise of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Government of India had declared a day of national mourning on 13 July 2026. During the mourning day, the national flag was flown at half-mast on all government buildings across the country where the tricolor was flown regularly. Also, no official entertainment program was held on this day. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju departed for Doha, Qatar today for conveying condolences on behalf of the Government of Qatar and people of India on the sad demise of His Highness the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani. Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India expressed deep condolences on the demise of Sheikh Hamad bin Hamad Al Thani.
