He clarified that the constitutional provision of reserving 33 percent seats for women in the country's parliament will be fully implemented in the next general elections to the Lok Sabha in the year 2029. He also made a special appeal to all the women, especially in Assam and across the country, to unite and raise their demand before all the political parties to pass this historic women's reservation bill in the parliament without any hindrance. The Prime Minister further said that the bill will prove to be very crucial in the future to increase the active participation of women in the policy making of the country and to empower them politically in the true sense.
