IPL 2026 Final to be Held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad

The IPL 2026 final will not be held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed this on Wednesday. The title match of the 19th season will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 31 May. The first qualifier (26 May) will be held in Dharamsala, while the eliminator (27 May) and second qualifier (29 May) will be held in New Chandigarh. Last season's final was also held in Ahmedabad. It is a tradition in the Indian Premier League (IPL) that the winning team's home ground will host the final next year. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are the defending champions but Chinnaswamy did not get to host them. RCB won the IPL 2025 final, defeating Punjab Kings to win the IPL trophy for the first time. Let us tell you that there have been many times in the IPL when the final was not held at the winner's home. The IPL was started in 2008. Rajasthan Royals won the first season's trophy. The final was held at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, however, due to the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Deccan Chargers became the champions in the next year.
