IPL 2026: Narendra Modi Stadium to Host Final, Breaking Tradition

MUMBAI: As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 enters its crucial phase, the venue for the playoffs and the final has come up as a major news for millions of cricket lovers. While it has been a tradition to host the final at the home ground of the defending champions of the year, this time the BCCI is likely to break the tradition and hand over the hosting of the mega final to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. According to sources, the other matches of the playoffs are also being planned to be shared among various attractive stadiums in the country. The Bengaluru ticket controversy has changed the equations: Bengaluru was the front-runner for the final match as per the prevailing IPL rules. However, after the serious controversy over the sale and management of tickets there recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India seems to have decided to make a strategic change. In order to avoid any inconvenience in the future due to these lapses in the management, the high-voltage battle for the final has begun in Ahmedabad.
