Iran Appoints New Supreme Leader Amidst Crisis

Mojtaba Khamenei Iran's new Supreme Leader: After the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his son Mojtaba has been entrusted with the post of Supreme Leader of Iran. Mojtaba is the second-eldest son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The United States and Israel declared war on Iran on 28 February to bring about a transition of power in Iran. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been killed in attacks by the United States and Israel. Meanwhile, Mojtaba's wife and children have also died in attacks in West Asia. US President Donald Trump said a few days ago that Iran's new Supreme Leader would need the approval of the US administration. "If he (Iran's new Supreme Leader) does not get approval from us, he will not be able to last long." Mojtaba is the second-youngest son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
