The UAE Defense Ministry said early Tuesday that Iran attacked two tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, killing one sailor and wounding eight others. Iran fired two cruise missiles at the tankers, named Mombasa and Al Bahiyah. After the attack, both tankers caught fire, although the fire was later brought under control. The Defense Ministry said, "The UAE reserves the right to respond to this escalating tension and take all necessary measures to protect its territory, its citizens and residents." Fighter jets were also heard over Dubai on Tuesday morning. Iran has targeted several Gulf countries since the US strike. Although it has exercised some restraint against Saudi Arabia, Iran-backed Houthi rebels have now fired a missile at Saudi Arabia as well. Al Jazeera reports that Yemen's Houthi rebels have now responded to the Saudi Arabia airport attack with a missile strike at Sana'a International Airport.
