Iran Closes Strait of Hormuz Amid Tensions with US Over Commercial Container Ship Incident

Tensions in West Asia have reached a dangerous point once again. Iran has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz until further notice. Soon after, the United States launched this week's third military attack on Iran. The United States alleges that Iran attacked a commercial container ship with a Cypriot flag passing through Hormuz, in response to which this action was taken. Iran's claim - the ship broke the rules, so the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) said that one ship was not following the established sea route and did not change its course despite several warnings. The ship was then stopped by firing warning shots. Iran also announced that no ship will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz until the US intervention ends. Iran also warned that any retaliatory action will be met with a strong response. The Iranian consulate in Hyderabad said that its commitment to the two sides could not be met until a mutual agreement was reached.
