Iran Lays Down Conditions for Ending Middle East War, Including Shutting Down US Military Bases

Iran has laid down six conditions as part of a new legal and strategic framework for ending the Middle East war that entered its 23rd day on Sunday: creating a new legal framework for the Strait of Hormuz, guaranteeing the cessation of hostilities, shutting down US military bases in the region, paying damages to the Islamic Republic of Iran, ending wars on all regional fronts, and prosecuting and extraditing media figures hostile to Iran. The Iranian proposals come a day after US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the US was "very close" to meeting its goals of "reconciling" military efforts in the Middle East. He indicated that he was considering ending West Asia operations. Iran's Mehr News Agency quoted unnamed senior security official as saying that Iran has been developing a multi-pronged strategy against Israel in the past months.
