Iran Rules Out Talks with US Until Violations Cease

Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that no talks are underway with the US. Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said this while talking to reporters at the Foreign Ministry's Center for Political and International Studies. According to Iran's semi-official news agency Tasnim, Araghchi said, "At this moment, we are not having any talks with the US. However, some mediators are still trying to find ways to resume talks. From our point of view, the talks cannot resume until the US stops violating the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and compensates for the violations committed earlier." He said, "Until the US stops violating the MoU and corrects its mistakes, there is no possibility of resuming talks in our opinion." The minister pointed out that the issue of fixing a new sea route in the Strait of Hormuz has been discussed with Oman in the final stages. He said that the experts on the sea route are not opening the existing straits.
