Iran Warns of War as Talks with US Remain Uncertain

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said no date has been set for the second round of talks. Al Jazeera reported that he said it would not be possible to accept the US if it again makes any extremist demands. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iran is ready for any situation. We do not trust the enemy. Even now, when we are sitting here, war can break out. The armed forces are ready for a full-fledged war on the ground. The parliament speaker denied that the ongoing talks could lead to negligence of national security. Ghalibaf said, "We believe that the armed forces are not ready because of Sunday's talks. On the contrary, like ordinary people on the streets, the armed forces are ready before us," Geo TV quoted Mr. Ghalibaf as saying. "There is also no indication that the second round of talks is likely to take place next week."
