Iranian President Arrives in New Delhi for 18th BRICS Summit

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in the Indian capital New Delhi on Friday to attend the 18th BRICS Summit. He will also hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking to reporters before leaving Tehran, the Iranian president spoke openly about the main objectives of BRICS. He said that the main purpose of this organization is to combat "unilateralism" in the world. Pezeshkian further said that a special bank has been created within BRICS and we are going to promote mutual investment between countries so that transactions between member countries can take place without reliance on the dollar. This will help reduce the US dollar and hegemony. He also said that the conference will discuss important issues such as solidarity, stability, and innovation, as well as Iranian economic and trade relations with India.
