Sources close to the Mirwaiz confirmed that "On the invitation of the Iranian Ambassador to India, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has left Srinagar today for New Delhi to join talks with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian." Iranian Embassy officials informed that Iranian Ambassador to India Dr. Mohammad Fathali is organizing an interaction with religious leaders, intellectuals and other dignitaries. The event will take place today (Friday, September 11) in New Delhi and will be followed by a dinner reception. Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in India today on a two-day high-profile visit to attend the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. His flight landed at 2: 00 pm at Palam Air Force Station. This is the first visit of an Iranian President to India in 2026, when India is hosting an important BRICS summit.
