Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Accuses Center of Reneging on Statehood Restoration Promises

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has once again targeted the BJP on the issue of restoration of statehood. He accused the Center of reneging on its promises. The CM said that no more efforts will be made to reach the central government. Our credentials are being taken undue advantage of. Our silence is being misunderstood as weakness and patience. After their finger is raised against us, we will now have to come out on the streets. The status of the state is not a favor. CM Omar Abdullah said, "Show me a single BJP MLA who told the people that Jammu and Kashmir will not be made a state. There will not be a candidate who will not say that the status of the state will be returned after the elections. Our promises are remembered but the promises made are not remembered anymore." Referring to PM Modi's promise, he said, "When the train service resumed in Katra, a short distance from here, and the Prime Minister gave a speech about restoring the status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, did he tell the Prime Minister that it is a false promise?
