JD-U Announces Candidates for Bihar Legislative Council Elections

In Bihar, elections to the Bihar Legislative Council are to be held on 9 seats, while by-elections are to be held on one seat. Today (June 5), the Janata Dal-United has announced the names of its four candidates. Three candidates are in the list for the biennial elections. While a by-election is to be held on one seat, the JD-U has nominated Lalan Prasad. Nishant Kumar is the JD-U candidate for the Bihar Legislative Council from Patna district. Bharti Mehta, who is from Madhubani district, has also been nominated by the JD-U. Shivrani Devi Prajapati has also been nominated. In total, the JD-U is preparing to send two women to the Bihar Legislative Council. By-elections are being held on one seat vacated after former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar became a member of the Rajya Sabha. After the resignation of Nitish Kumar, the NDA government has been formed in Bihar under the leadership of Samrat Chaudhary. Nishant Kumar was sworn in as a minister during the expansion of the cabinet last month. Nishant Kumar said that he will always be with the people of Bihar.
