Jharkhand's Mahagathbandhan Government Stumbles After Cross-Voting in Rajya Sabha Elections

Hemant Soren's Mahagathbandhan government is beginning to stumble after cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand. The Rashtriya Janata Dal and CPIML, which are part of the Mahagathbandhan, have made scathing comments on the Congress. An RJD MLA has accused Congress in-charge K Raju of betraying his own candidate and said that those who are thieves are the loudest. CPIML's General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, another partner of the Mahagathbandhan, has written directly to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and said that it is absolutely wrong to accuse CPIML MLAs of cross-voting. Parimal Nathwani, the NDA-backed candidate, has won the Jharkhand Rajya Sabha election on Thursday. He got 28 votes. Congress candidate Pranav Jha got 20 votes. The NDA had 24 votes, thus he got 4 votes more. The game of these 4 votes spoiled Pranav Jha's political game. After the election results on Thursday, Jharkhand Congress in-charge K Raju appeared very upset.
