Kaptanganj Assembly Seat: A Brief History and Analysis

Basti is one of the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The district has a total of five assembly seats. These include Harraiya, Kaptanganj, Rudhauli, Basti Sadar, and Mahadeva. In the series of seat equations, today we will talk about the Kaptanganj assembly seat. The Kaptanganj assembly seat came into existence in 1974 after delimitation. Earlier parts of this area were mainly under the'Basti Nagar'and'Harraiya Purba'assembly seats. Ram Lakhan, the first MLA from this seat, won the election on a Congress ticket.
