Karkardooma Court Sentences Five Convicts to Life Imprisonment in IB Officer's Murder Case

A Karkardooma court on Friday (July 31) pronounced a major verdict in the murder case of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 northeast Delhi riots. The court has sentenced five convicts, including former councillor Tahir Hussain, to life imprisonment. After this important decision, there has been a sharp reaction from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP MLA Harish Khurana reacted to this decision and slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). In the first reaction from the BJP after the announcement of the sentence, MLA Harish Khurana said that he expected the death penalty in this case. He said, "We were expecting that he (Tahir Hussain) will be hanged to death, because this case falls under the category of'Rarest of Rare'in Delhi." BJP MLA Harish Khurana said that Tahir Hussain and others were sentenced to life imprisonment under the law.
