Karnataka Chief Minister-Elect Faces Sensitive Decision on Tunnel Road Project

DK Shivakumar is all set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on June 3. He is facing a decision that is considered politically sensitive in the early days. This is the case of the ambitious Tunnel Road Project in Bengaluru, whose lowest bid has been made by Adani Enterprises. This is an issue where the national politics of the Congress and the needs of development in the state appear to be at loggerheads. Rahul Gandhi has been attacking the Modi government at the center for the last several years regarding the Adani Group. On the other hand, many big investments and work are going on with the Adani Group in Congress-ruled states. In such a situation, Chief Minister-to-be DK Shivakumar is faced with the question of whether he will approve the bid of the Adani Group to pursue his dream project or find another way to suit the national politics of the Congress. He has been calling this project a gamechanger infrastructure for the city. As Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Bengaluru Development, he has continuously pushed this project to 17,698 km.
