With the IPL festival set to begin in the country from March 28, the first match of which will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka MLAs have raised a political storm by demanding free IPL tickets. On Thursday, Congress MLA Vijayanand Kasappanavar said that at least five IPL tickets should be made available free of cost to every MLA in the state. He argued that people's representatives are VIPs, they cannot stand in queues. Speaking to the media on the issue before the first match of the IPL on March 28, the Congress MLA also questioned the Karnataka Cricket Association. He alleged that the KSCA is constantly taking facilities from the government, but still not respecting the MLAs. He said, "The IPL match is going to start on the 28th of this month. KSCA is not giving tickets to the MLAs, ministers and their families. They are taking all the facilities from the government. Security and other things, but not respecting the MLAs."
