Local Body Elections in Ahmedabad: Fierce Competition Ensues

Ahmedabad, તા.25: In the local body elections, the fight is similar to the assembly elections at the local level. In 2021, even a one-vote lead ensured the defeat of a candidate. There were a total of six taluka panchayat seats in which five BJP and one Congress candidate won by getting only one vote more. Before the 2026 elections were held on Sunday, political parties used their last-minute strength to retain the seats won by a slight margin and to win the seats that were lost. The battle for the 2026 elections is going to be more important than the last 2021 local elections. Due to this, the BJP, Congress and AAP are all trying hard. More campaigning was done to analyze the weak candidates of the rival party and many election meetings of party leaders were held continuously. Along with this, the strength of the party was used to win the seats that were lost by less votes in the past.
