Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Congress did not praise the outstanding bravery of Indian pilot Smit Machar because the party was afraid of losing the votes of the minority community. Machar is considered a hero worldwide because he successfully fought off his co-pilot, who wanted to crash a Flydubai flight from the UAE to Israel with 174 passengers on board. Later the plane was diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where he landed safely. The Chief Minister claimed, "An Omani man attacked an Indian pilot Smit Machar inside a plane going to Israel with an axe, and that Indian man risked his life to save the lives of about 200 people. Such bravery is part of Sanatan culture, but Congress minority leaders are not praising Machar for fear of losing votes." CM Yadav further said, "Vote-hungry Congress leaders should not be ashamed of such behavior." The BJP leader said that Congress is changing its attitude from children to tribal families even after months of infectious diseases.
