Madhya Pradesh Congress Leader Denies Allegations of Land Irregularities

Madhya Pradesh politics is currently witnessing a major churn within the Congress party. Senior party leader and former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh has vehemently denied the serious allegations made by state Congress president Jitu Patwari against the state government. This development has intensified the talk of infighting in the state Congress. In fact, a few days ago, Congress state president Jitu Patwari had alleged in a press conference in Delhi that land worth about Rs 500 crore in Ujjain has been allotted to'Veer Bharat Nyas'for just one rupee. He claimed that the members of this trust are cultural advisors of the Chief Minister and the Chief Minister should answer for this huge irregularity. In contrast, during a press conference held in Ujjain by former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, these claims of Jitu Patwari were termed completely baseless. It was clarified by him while showing documents that'Veer Bharat Nyas'( Government Trust) is a government trust, during which the Chief Minister himself is the chairman.
