Maharashtra By-Elections: Sunetra Pawar Faces Uncertainty as Congress Files Nomination in Baramati

Two by-elections to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly are also being held. These include Rahuri and Baramati seats. Ajit Pawar won a landslide victory in the 2024 Assembly elections, but after his death in a plane crash, a by-election is needed on this seat. Sunetra Pawar is to contest from here, but with only two days left for the nomination, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has not yet made any preparations. On the contrary, the MVA constituent Congress has increased Sunetra Pawar's difficulties by filing a nomination from Baramati. The nomination process in Baramati began on 30 March. Some independent candidates have filed nominations for the by-election.
